About the event

Join us on September 18th at 6:30 PM in TEC 411 for an exciting evening of live physics experiments and mind-blowing demonstrations! See a frozen marshmallow with liquid nitrogen, test the bed of nails, explore light spectra, and much more. The event is free and open to everyone—come enjoy the fun, and bring your own demo ideas for future events!

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) at USM has hosted Physics Demo Days in the past, and they’ve always been a fun and engaging way to explore physics outside the classroom. These events give students and the community a chance to see exciting experiments live, learn the science behind them, and interact with physics majors in a hands-on setting. We value the creativity and enthusiasm of everyone who contributes, and we welcome new demo ideas that can make future events even better. Physics Demo Day is not only about learning—it’s about sharing curiosity, inspiring others, and building a community around science.
